oh chicken and the egg, why do you flummox me so?

Ah, ye ol’ blog. I’ve been remiss as usual (and amused I’m sure you are not since I always use remiss to describe our sweet sorrow), but i’ve been so busy you must conclude and support the facts that when I’m exhausted, I just can’t type on you well. I can type, and maybe as a compromise, I’ll just type short and sweet.

Ok, I’ll try…I’ll try!

The last 3 weeks have been filled with recording, new studio purchases (to improve mixes) as well as a fair amount of experimentation to get different tones. A lot of reading on subjects and just a sense of strong self-critique and cleansing of the pallette.

Yup, I’m recording new music.

Jammed with Flanders every Thursday for the past month. We go in and I’ll just start a riff and execute various attempts at melody. Flanders lends the drumming support that can be very inspiring. I’m actually quite surprised at how many germs I’ve come up with. I’ve already blown one of them into a full blown song, and at least 5 others are just waiting their turn.

Of course, I’m also gearing up for the show, and that’s taking some energy away from this.

I must tell you this though: It is with each passing day, I wake up with a frown on the way to work, and that smile turns upside down as the moments get closer where I can go home and do at least a little something towards the new music. I so wish I could afford to do this without worry of the typical 9-5 regimen. But these are my cards, and I’m going to play the hand with utmost fervor.

Oh yes: Go Seminoles,
Chance

PS: November 10th, 2007…Rhymes with Flortable.
