Thought I was finished with the new record. I really did. Even announced the mastering.
But this one riff was just gnawing at me.
And then something very profound happened to me (the announcement and subsequent loss of one of my closest friends to Cancer), and this song had to get done. It just had to.
So, along with some incredible musician friends, it was recorded, and then mixed, in about a month’s time.
The mix completed the day my friend died.
And now it’s going to be the lead single.
Ron meant so much to me: a mentor, a father figure (especially when I didn’t have one for a long while), and ultimately a friend and brother.
His loss has left a hole that feels infinite.
Miss you. So much.
