This past weekend (Saturday), I shot the video for the upcoming single. As a general aside, I just have to share one learning experience from this. And that is this:
If you have an idea, don’t let anyone drag it down in the the muck of uncertainty. If it’s challenging, so much the better. If it’s daunting, so much the better. This is now the 2nd video I’ve done in the past 3 or 4 months where I came up with an idea, I wrote it down, sketched it out, plotted, planned, sculpted, and…created. I told myself both times, that I didn’t care if it seemed difficult. I just…didn’t care.
And so I saw both of these little ideas come to fruition, first with the Bus Stop People Video, and now with this one. Will you like it? Oh, I don’t know. That’s a different discussion. Here, I’m just saying that just about anything can be accomplished if you set your mind to it. Yea, that cliché; it’s actually true.
This video involved 30 people on set, all at once, doing some very specific cues. Not only did they perform it all perfectly, they did so with not a whit of complaint, or lack of enthusiasm. It’s like everyone was simply “on board” with the idea, and they were just as eager to make it work as I was. It’s a testament to them, this video is. And that comment alone justifies the whole intent.
I hope to release it in the next month. I hope you like it as much as I do.
