I just wanted to tell you how much I am looking forward to the new album!
Secretly I was aware of the album page and the sampler, days before you publicly announced it. I wanted to do the pre-order thing to be the first to pre-order… but had to restrain myself. I wanted to let you know how madly excited I was seeing the pictures of the deluxe box set (I remember my eyes widening), but thought I had better keep that to myself for just a little longer…
The updates you have written ever since about each song… man that gives your album a soul with nine dimensions!
From the point on where you took all of your musical experience and went solo eleven years ago, you’ve been making demos that already sounding great, until you had reached a point where you got your production skills up to a point where you could say: “okay, these are full-fledged songs”, but still they were modestly released in a cardboard slip case.
The singles you have released after that grew increasingly more personal; “What I Pray For”, “Solitude”… And now you’re making an album reflecting what’s been going on in your more recent life, with people you’ve worked with in the past, about people and events that go even farther back. It’s beautiful to see you reach such a point. I would, however, doubt that “two years in the making” is accurate. 😉
