ha. that sounds so ‘evil villain’, ‘student becomes the master’ vibe.
Yesterday’s mixing was about drums and bass. With drums, I’m trying some different tricks to make them more punchy, and like all learning processes, I probably took it one or two steps too far. This, of course, after listening to this morning’s daily. But I think I know what to fix, how to fix, and I’m so excited to see if the small change will result in how I hear it in my head.
Along the way, though, in trying that new trick, I took a few of the steps that I experimented with and applied it to my bass amp tone.

Now, I REALLY can’t wait to get home now and pull this mix up!
As I work on this record, I feel like a race car in LA Traffic. The excitement and energy is there, but damn it if there aren’t 12 cars in front of me….at a red light.
