Remiss and what not

Damn, I’ve been busy. So much so that I haven’t been keeping up with my dear diary journals so to speak.
Oh “I promise I promise, I promise” right?

Quick ‘lil sis update.
She is buying my mom’s car. She has a job and is cooking along with her treatment.

Last Friday night, she along with my Mom, nephew and stepdad weathered the storm that was Hurricane Charley. It was still a category 2 hurricane by the time it hit Orlando. They escaped injury and any damage to the house (However, almost all the potted plants at the front of the house were destroyed). The next door neighbor’s weren’t so lucky, however, as 3 large trees in the neighborhood fell, one hitting a fence and another narrowly missing a garage.

As well, a few of the Friends Of Chance Message board members from Florida (Nick & Kevin) are still without power. A new FOC’er from Odessa, FL lives much closer to where the hurricane made landfall and he has yet to get back on line. So I hope all is well and safe. Thoughts & prayers to all.

So, while Florida climbs out of the wreckage of a horrible storm, lil sis continues to make progress, and the family is slowly getting stronger.

Nephew started 8th grade this past week, and EVERY single time I talk to him on the phone his voice gets lower. He should be Barry White by the time winter hits.

Thanks to all who downloaded my latest release, RADIOFREE. Happy with the way that one came out.

This past week and weekend, g-friend was sick as a dog. So, didn’t do tooo much. On Friday night we drove around in search for food to take home when we happened upond a Sushi Roll joint. Tiny, and really mostly for take out, they had oh, maybe a thousand different varieties. We chose way too many as we were thinking on empty stomachs and, to top it off, they shorted us on the order. We didn’t find out til we got home, so back we drove (a couple of miles, I guess). Upon arriving they were very kind about the mistake (nothing bugs me more when people get on the defensive about f*cking up YOUR order), and even gave us an extra order of rolls for our trouble. It tasted like an Unagi and avocado with perhaps scallions and sesame seeds. Ok, now we REALLY had too much food!

We watched the opening ceremonies, and while it was pretty spectacular, I liked the Sydney games just a little better. But the head thing breaking apart into little pieces: give me a break that was INSANELY COOL.

Saturday, I spent some time doing music stuff, and then I went to DevilDoll’s B-day at the Gig. The bands, Fred Wilson and The Larry’s played.

On to Sunday, which was primarily about errands in the day time.

Later in the afternoon we trotted up to ChefKirk’s place. His wife is like, I don’t know, 13 months pregnant or something. ChefKirk is an amazing cook, if you hadn’t already divined. Gus and g-friend were in attendance as well, along with ChefKirk’s friend, CraigH. Great time was had by all.

The weekend concluded with the watching of Da Ali G Show, which is almost too good to be true, it’s that funny.
