Went and saw Herbie Hancock play the Disney Concert Hall Saturday night.
Good concert, but Jesus Christ, the drummer. A kid by the name of Richie Barshay, he WAS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And only 21. Unbelievable.
Herbie’s quartet which was a trio, um but listed as a quartet, also played with the LA Phil. Pretty cool. Highlight was Georgia on my Mind, and a little ditty by George Gershwin called [i think] Fascinating Rhythm.
This place is beautiful.
