I have no earthly idea why anyone who believes in America would support George W. Bush for President. Don’t tell me he’s a “nice” guy with whom you’d like to have a beer. Remember that you’re buying the whole administration. Remember that he wants to change the constitution at the drop of a hat. Remember that its the view of his administration that the ends justifies the means. That whole annoying details of WMD being the reason we went in the first place? No matter; Saddam is in power and da world is a better place bucko. ptttthhhhppptttt…. “The end justifies the means.”
Hey, maybe we should bring the National Guard into say an urban area like Los Angeles because he found out that WMD’s might be in oh, Ladera Heights. Then leave them there (the National Guard) because it so happens that crime went down in the process (with all those boots on the streets). I mean, right? The world is a safer place! Doesn’t matter that he was wrong! The world is a safer place!!!

And while you’re at it, acknowledge that you don’t for a second feel any safer than when Saddam was in power. You are buying what he is selling and he has little or no interest in the lives of 98% of us. Fucking snake oil salesmen.
And that being said, do I believe he is evil? No. Do I believe he loves America like the rest of us? Yes. But his ideas about how to lead this country are deranged. And he talks about the other person’s record as if he has one that can give him ANY credibility. As if certitude is a merit to which we all should note “well, he means what he says and he says what he means.”
If I told you that eating your own shit was a viable cancer prevention method, and I ate my own shit for the next 4 years, would you say aloud and proud, “well, gosh; just look at Chance; he means what he says and he says what he means!”
80% of this country believe George Bush, if re-elected, should substantially change his policies. Um, what the HELL???? How on earth is anyone going to vote for him if he has that kind of support!??

Anyway, today I mailed my absentee ballot. Took me 45 minutes to vote because we Californians had a zillion propositions on the ballot. And doing it absentee style, you got all kinds of time to read up and try to make sense. Well, try, anyway…

Went and saw the songwriter finals (remember that thing I took part in a few times?). Nice performances; 2 of the finalists were justified; one was absolutely not. I’m venting tonight aren’t I? lol
The girl who won was one of the justified, so all’s right with the world.
Course, I left my credit card at the restaurant, but will pick it up on Sunday…
