Weekend Update: 19 days left…and counting!

Saturday:
Saturday was a great practice. 4 hours, just the drummer and me, breaking down the songs and putting them back together again.
I’m talking old school woodshedding, which is by far the best way to get up to speed the quickest.

There were a few songs we focused on more than others, and as we delved more into them the more they began to shine. Love that feeling: when you start at a certain level of proficiency or excellence and then, after some time put into it, it just changes dramatically for the better.

Saturday night went to see the glorious latest movie from Director Zang Yimou: “House of Flying Daggers.” This guy is just amazing and there are at least 3 scenes which will just stun you. I’m talking rollercoaster breathless. FYI: He did “Hero” and “Raise the Red Lantern.”

Sunday:
Drummer and I got together for another session, this one lasting 3 hours. (Special thanks to my friend McClure for letting us use his studio to practice!)
We finished tidying up the songs and then actually ran through an entire set non-stop. About 3 mistakes were made on drums one no one would notice, one musicians only would notice and one that the deaf would have probably picked up on. lol So, all in all, great progress in one hard worked weekend.

Sunday night:
Made Spaghetti & Meatballs. Delicious.

Next up:
The Bass player!
After that: First Choir Practice.
