As you can readily tell, I haven’t updated my journal/blog/hoo haa thing in a while. Too much stuff happening too quickly to distill into a lovely sentence or cursory phrase.
So, this weekend, which afforded me an almost constant residence inside my studio (and not just working on music), I thought, well, “at least say something!”
*********
I’ve been working on Single #14, which means that yes, it appears that CD 3 might just be around the corner. Sooner than you think?
Also been working on a commissioned painting, my first in almost two years. It’s for a christmas present that the person who is commissioning me is giving to someone else (that sentence was convoluted). Hope to have it finished in about 1 week. (I’m also working on another that I hope to have finished by middle of Jan. That may be tough…)
Last month, I drove to Oklahoma from Los Angeles. Put just about 3000 miles on my car, and it was well worth it. Surprisingly, it was not as difficult of a drive as I thought. While adrenaline always fuels the original destination, the drive back can be a bear. Such was not the case. We made good time both ways (17 hours on the way, and maybe 18 or so on return). Even hit a snow storm on the way back, where we saw—I’m not kidding—seven accidents during an hour’s stretch of time. In these were 2 semi’s(overturned), couple of winnebago style trailers, etc. But apart from that drudgery was beautiful New Mexico scenery nestled betwixt the snow. HA! Got to use ‘betwixt’ in a sentence! If you’re on the Friends of Chance Message Board, I’ll post a few pix shortly.
Potential good news on the video front. Many of you (or at least some) have asked what the status of this mysterious video that i’ve alluded to. Well, for those who don’t know, I shot footage for a video for Taste of the Good Life. The director, who is currently getting clobbered by the hardcore classes he’s been taking, says he may be able to begin work on the video (editing etc) in the next week or so. What that means in the general scheme? Don’t know, really. But it’s a start!
I’ve had to do a lot of little things to the site (like moved the store to a better server). You shouldn’t notice much, but it should help all in the long run. What’s annoying is that it takes a long time to do the stuff that no one really notices but has to be done! So no instant gratification there. Thanks to Jim Guiltinan at American Business Web for all his help.
My last show of the year will be in Orlando on December 28th. I will be playing with my friends Megaphone. I’m playing acoustic and they’ll play full band. Oh yea, if you’re in Florida and anywhere NEAR this show, I can’t say it enough: don’t miss this show.
But worry not, Angelenos: the new year will bring new full band shows from Chance & the Choir.
So, there’s a lot to look forward to. My December schedule is just a crushing one. (I literally did 12 hours a day the last two days.)
Hope all is well with you and will update more again soon!
