This weekend saw a glorious dinner, an incredible football game, a completed mix and Disneyland sans the matterhorn and space mountain.
Had a lot to do this weekend as it was g-friend’s b-day. Already planned on taking her to Disneyland (the request was put in months ago), and I had narrowed down recipes to a few possibilities.
But first, let’s get to the guy stuff. I have my priorities, you know.
FSU played its most complete game of the season and it was a true joy to watch. We were ranked #7, and we played #6 ranked Virginia. And we won 36-3. And we only gave up like 24 yards of rushing, some ridiculously beautiful number like that. (Ernie Sims rules.)
Yes, Virginia there is a Florida State.
Our NEW quarterback threw for 275. He completed 20 of 26, but only because 5 passes were dropped. Uncanny…
Ok, ok, I confess; I’m avoiding the chick stuff. LOL
Moving on…
Here, my interested friends, is what I made for dinner on Saturday .
Veal over Artichoke Puree, with lobster and a rad bernaisse sauce.
HA! Take that Emeril. Stop saying Bam already…;-)
In the artichoke puree was (are you ready?) goat cheese and creme fraiche (that’s frenchy for sour cream, yo).
The Lobster was insanely good (it’s alot easier than you think to make)…
Sunday, we went to Disneyland where it should have rained but didn’t. It was my first time ever at Disneyland, but I’ve been to Disney World, oh, about 900 times…
Ok, I’m Orlando-centric: DisneyLAND licks major balls compared to DisneyWORLD. Do I even have to mention that neither Space Mountain nor the Matterhorn were even working???!!!! And why are they selling McDonald’s French Fries EVERYWHERE in Disneyland. You people can’t go 6 hours without Mickey D’s!!??? Oh, and get this: this one eatery was crowing because it had Stouffers Macaroni & Cheese. I’m sorry, did you just ask me to buy a microwave dinner at a theme park where I just shelled out $50 a ticket? LOLOLOL. That IS funny, you must admit.
But we still had a lot of fun despite the crass cross dressing multi-branding event that is the house that Mickey built.
