Saturday worked on a web site for a friend.
Then, went to a BBQ in the Hollywood Hills, to see a very dear friend names JamesRthe3rd and his wife Amyjean. See, it’s been way too long since I’ve seen these two, and now included in their busy lives are twins. Nuclear family in one fell swap, I tells ya. They had already been put to bed by the time Hurricane Chance arrived (suspiciously, I might add;)). So, another time I’ll see the new kids.
Regardless, it was amazing to see my friends, and to meet JamesR’s mom and sis. Also met some good people at the party; one an music engineer (who turns out is friends of Jamie C) another a shop owner, another named Winnie (whom I had met before) and her friend. A few more, but all good people.
Checked out a band courtesy of JamesRthethird called The Secret Machines. Very cool (on CD).
Then, later, I watched one of the most AMAZING MOVIES!!!!!
City of God, from Brazil. (yes, subtitles, but don’t worry, you’ll be speechless throughout the entire movie). Think Lord of the Flies in the inner city meets Goodfellas in a philosophical & sociological sense. And nothing I say can prepare you for the talent of this director nor the story he tells and the memorable images he graces you with. Nothing. So I won’t even try. Just rent it. Trust me. Put it to you this way. Started watching the movie damn near midnight. Finished it and was clearly awake afterwards. It will stun you.
Oh yea, I got this show booked for Monday, must practice now…
