The Sat morn recording sessions…

Good friend Leche Del Toro provided me with his studio so that I may record the drummings of Elvis Levy.

Got there about 8 AM, with about 3-4 hours of sleep. But surprisingly enough, I was pretty awake. I think I was just really looking forward to recording live drums to my new songs and, perhaps even more, looking forward to seeing Brian play and how he would attack the parts.

We recorded Drum parts for: My Oh My, Forgive+Forget, Percy’s Song, Ambulance Chaser, and Won’t Be a Next Time.

Went very smoothly, no real computer problems; I frankly had a blast doing it.

Later, I come to find out g-friend, alas, could not make it through the entire day at work, and continued to yackety yack (don’t talk back) into the afternoon.

Still she had the perseverence to sit/lay with me as I watched Smarty Jones lose his bid for the Triple Crown (I confess to being a bit broken hearted; call me a hopeless f*ck, I know) and, later we went to have dinner with her best friend and her best friend’s husband. A rad restaurant called Vibrato’s, featuring mellow jazz all night long (good mellow jazz not cheesy). One guy had a stand up bass that he had had since 1968, but he said was over 200 years old. The finish on this thing was incredible.

Good food, good company, good night…

Oh yea, RIP Ronald Reagan.
