Alright, let's just do this.
I recently got involved with photography more and would really dig to grow in it. So I joined this Dutch forum that's all about photography. People post their pictures to it, and others give comments and such.
Now, I'm a real rookie and I'm sure there are people on this forum that are either that or more adChanced on that level (gee, I wonder whom?  ). Just thought it would be cool to do a thread on this here too.
Just that I'm mentioning specific details to the picture does NOT mean you have to. Just post whatever you like, as long as it's yours 
(The image I put up here was taken down by me 'cause it's old and not really that good.) |

| Today I bought a new camera; a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ7. Can't wait for it to come in later this week!!! |

| BTW, which camera(s) do you own? And if it's a DSLR, which lenses have you got? (Also pretty curious about the EXIF of your rain/window photo). |

The rain shot was taken with my old point and click: Canon Powershot G3. A great little camera, if a little slow on the draw compared to my new camera...which is:
Canon Rebel XT
I have 3 lenses right now:
Canon 28-135 IS
Canon 50 mm 1.8
Sigma 30 mm. 1.4
I WANT the 100 mm Macro next, but not til it's in the budget.
The sigma lens is what is is that crowd shot above. it's great for low light and was used at the CD release show.
The 50 is also great for low light but is a tighter crop (check the 6-13 whisky show for those).
I have yet to take single art with my new camera gear. Can't wait til the mood strikes and the ideas flow. It's just so much more crisp than my old camera. Night and day in that regard. |

I can NOT believe that you made those other pictures with just a compact camera! That's like... *gasp*
You've got a nice set of equipment already. Macro is not really for me... I don't really care about lil' bugs  Though I did photograph a cat and a couple of spiders today with an analog camera (Pentax ME Super w/ Panagor auto macro converter and I think a kit lens). |

Actually, the macro is for a specific trick and that is that I want to take more shots with my old Kodak Duaflex. It's a technique called through the viewfinder.
You use a macro and shoot what you see on a viewfinder of an old camera (like from the 60's.
It's really cool. The only prob is my current lenses can't get close enough.

That's what I had on the Pentax. I'm returning it to its rightful owner tomorrow... gonna miss it. Working with an analog camera was a great experience. Now let's hope the photos will come out the way I intended them |

Bounce is a Dutch Robbie Williams cover band that played here last Friday. It was my first shoot of a live band indoors and I'm pretty proud of this one:

That's some of the biggest nonsense I've read in a while. Seems there's quite some people that do it though. The idea:
- Buy yourself a Lomo camera, it's of Russian make
- Make pictures, shoot from the hip and don't look at what's on it
- Act as if you think that the picture you just made of the toilet and some of the wall around it is the best picture you made with your Lomo camera yet

Wow, am I really just the only one who does more with photography on this forum?
I went on a photo trip with a group of photographers last Sunday (the same ones I went with for the above pictures of that Mindhunters building). This time I had my own Lumix FZ7 to mess with, which was fun. Here's a couple of my personal favorites.
As I got back Sunday night I was supposed to call someone. It turned out to be the drummer of Bounce (see picture + link above). He said that there are only two pictures from his entire career that he digs, which is one of my pictures (to be a bit more precise: this one) along with a picture made twelve years ago,.. that was some compliment!

| Thanks They were standing on a dyke. I saw their pretty red roofs and white walls, made a picture (the weather was AWFUL that day) and spent quite some time in post-production. The sky is actually the real sky hanging above it, only just a little bit exaggerated (as are the colors of the houses, which got a little extra saturation). |

Interesting angle to this one. I think my faves still are the red shingles and the table in the middle of that crazy looking floor. |

Thanks I really dig the red shingles too, I'm going to have them made into postcard stamps next year (for real, we can do that here; use [url=http://world.altavista.com/]BabelFish[/ur]).
As for the crazy looking floor; I really recommend you to watch Mindhunters some time. I think I recall they even used a room where this floor was used. The rest of the building's floor has a really different pattern which you'll also see more often throughout the movie. It's not so much a great movie per se, it's kind of funny and scary, but Lord of the Flies is better... |
