Here's what I am going to do:
List your nominees for a song that you would like me to cover.

I'll pick four, then post a poll. Whichever gets the highest vote, I will record.

Once it's completed, I will post in an "F.O.C." community exclusive.

Sound like a plan?
So, let's start with your song ideas first...

Funny. Justin and I were talking about this topic the other day over the phone. He thought you could pull off a rockin' "Love Shack". It sounded crazy at first, but who knows, it might work.

Here's a top 10 (plus 3 bonus songs... hard to make a choice...) from me. I have specifically looked at your style and the extent of how well they fit you. Of course I have my favorites. As I don't want to put one artist twice in this listing, I sometimes have given you two options in one. The first given option has my preference. A comment with the first version is that I have always pictured you singing that song, so I am on my KNEES to have you singing that one. If that will be one of the "winners", I would like to have a chat with you about some ideas I have for the song.

01 - Silverchair - Learn to hate
02 - Prince - My name is Prince (My name is Chance)
03 - The Who - It's a boy (or: Pinball wizard)
04 - Pink Floyd - Wish you were here (or: Hey you)
05 - Weezer - Island in the sun
06 - Electric Light Orchestra - Evil woman
07 - Puddle Of Mudd - Drift & die
08 - Bush - Jesus online (or: Letting the cables sleep)
09 - Queensryche - Jet city woman
10 - Staind - It's been a while
** - Tim Christensen - Caterpillar
** - Machine Head - Deafening silence
** - Jimi Hendrix - Highway chile

I have considered putting in a specific Avril Lavigne song in as well but I figured I wouldn't be taken serious on this anymore Confused

Thought of a few more that might mean something to you:

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2

I think Deafening Silence is cut pretty well for his voice (talking about voices, I *finally* can do A Man Destroys without any problems with the key it's in).

Anyway, SHAME on me for not putting the following songs in the list:

** Duran Duran - Too much information
** Velvet Revolver - Slither (just saw this one on TV, OMG it's awesome)
** Michael Jackson - I just can't stop loving you (no pun intended... the song is just great)
** or a song by Deep Purple...

and I think "Where the streets have no name" is better. Or "Acrobat", but have Brian Levy do the drums on that one.

here are some of my ideas...

definitely some U2. i was thinking" All I Want Is You"
Depeche Mode- "Blasphemous Rumors"
Dramarama- "Anything Anything"(sorry. I got flashbacks from the Pretty Ugly Show)
Radiohead- "Creep"
Alice In Chains- "Man In The Box"
something by Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg.

About Silverchair's "Learn to hate", I just thought that it connects pretty well to the situation with your sister right now. I hope you're not taking this the wrong way, I'm merely trying to point out that you singing the lyrics can be sung by you in a way that you actually mean it because you know what the hell it's about!

More ideas:

Lenny Kravitz - Black velveteen / Are you gonna go my way / Always on the run / Stop draggin' around (I have ideas for covering that last one),

Bush - Testosterone

Led Zeppelin - Tangerine

No seriously! Oh I feel offended here Evil or Very Mad hehe. I think "A thousand miles" leaves quite some space to make a hell of a cover. If I wouldn't want to be taken seriously I would have donated any of the following ideas:

Britney Spears - ...Baby one more time DONT COVER THIS ONE
Pizzicato Five - 20th century girl DONT COVER THIS ONE
Five - Everybody get up DONT COVER THIS ONE
or any of the songs of bands I listed elsewhere on this forum under bands/artists that I severely hate (ok, that includes Britney)

Back to some serious suggesting. Sheec owns these songs... you have to get used to the lead vocals at first (I know I had to), but apart from that the music is excellent

KANE - Free
KANE - Can you handle me
KANE - Where do I go now
