I don't know and I don't care if this crossed Chance's mind or not, but I have this feeling it might catch up. Year in, year out, we are being bugged with the same Christmas songs on the radio. Yes, I mean "Last Christmas" by WHAM! and"All I Want For Christmas" by Mariah Carey. Attempts by The Darkness and others have rather failed, so we're still stuck with the same stuff.

I was just wondering - it's impossible to do a new song. So how about we start to bend our minds over the possibility of Chance doing a cover for next Christmas, one that could not annoy us even if we heard it as often as the songs mentioned above...

Do you like this idea? Do you think it sucks? Would Chance even care to do something like this? Have you got ideas for this yourself, or can you come up with other songs? Discussion is free.

The only Christmas song i listen to is Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and, the sorely missed, Kirsty McColl.

A track of pure genius Hunh!??? "and the boys in the NYPD choir are singin' Galway bay... and the bells are ringin' out for Christmas day"

It's also got words like Bum, Sl*t, C**t... Everything you need for an alt.xmas song!

I think you'd have to be from NYC to relate Christmas songs to words like that

And yep, Weezer also has a Christmas song. Makes me wonder why they never play that one on the radio Razz

Sorry Eddy, you quoted me mid-edit. Funnily enough, the pogues are Irish and Kirsty's English.

I've never heard this Weezer song - although I do love Weezer!

I tell you what:
If you all want me to do a Christmas song, I know EXACTLY what song to do. It's my favorite christmas song.

Do you want to keep it a surprise?

Dude that's cool, and indeed, do not let us know the title of the song Smile

So I guess you should soon start a poll about it, allowing people to choose between a mystery Christmas song or a normal voting round.
