The full monty... the list seems to be chosen disregarding personal preference as it does not contain tracks people have been pleading for (like Weezer, or in my case Silverchair). After a thorough listening I narrowed down the list to:
The Cure - Inbetween days
Led Zeppelin - Ramble on
Pink Floyd - Hey you
Prince - When doves cry
Radiohead - Creep
And here it is where it gets so damn hard to narrow this list down to only one song. Let's just kick the Pink Floyd song out as I think Chance can do a much better job on any of the other songs in the above list.
The Cure has such a great guitar track, only vocals should be adjusted to C?-style. Led Zeppelin - oh this song is just marvellous. Prince... actually I'm considering that one for my brother in law because he's a huge fan of Prince, and I actually can't wait what Chance will do to the drum track. Radiohead's Creep... the *pow-pow* sound the guitar makes is really the soul of this song.but I think Chance might go for an acoustic version (listening to the My Iron Lung EP makes me reconsider that). I do want Creep in though but I have this feeling others will vote for it too so I'm just going to risk not voting for that one. Still remaining now:

Is it time to pull out my hairs yet? Yes, it is. But I want to keep my beautiful long hair. I got a compliment of my best friend's grandmother about it recently. I'm staring at the screen very much in a sense The Cure might have gotten their inspiration for the album name "Staring at the sea". I have to say no to this one, the other remaining songs might prove a more severe challenge for Chance, and I think he'll want one of those. With the Prince track I'm somewhere a bit scared to be disappointed, and should I let my sympathy for my bro in law speak... I must have Chance to try do a real classic, and it seems he does like doing older work anyway.

It came down to U2 and Yeah Yeah Yeahs for me, but I ultimately voted for "Running to Stand Still" because there's not a person among us who could pull that song off with more passion than Chance.
How many times have you seem 'em live? Six, right? I mean, that should be your answer right there. And if that's not enough, you have to see how he reacts during the intro to "Where The Streets Have No Name". You know the feeling you get when you're waiting for the big explosion at the beginning of "Never Small"? The hair on the back of your neck stands up, your face turns red, you tell everyone to shut up and ask, "Do you feel what I'm feeling?" Exactly.
I say let the man cover his favorite band! |

I've heard Chance sing that one live and yes there is some serious ass kicking involved. Which is why I want to hear a recorded version of it, so yes, I voted for Running to Stand Still even though I nominated Bjork. Yes kids, it's THAT GOOD. |
