Meanwhile a lot has happened. I had the red shingled roofs printed in high quality (A3 format) and put a cool frame around it, gave it to my mother for her birthday. The picture of city hall I kept for myself, it's way too abstract for my mom.

This morning my first photograph appeared in the Apeldoorn edition of De Stentor (I believe it's the largest Dutch newspaper). It's the second picture below.

Last Saturday there was a protest march against a heavy industrial terrain that they want to build on the other side of the highway, right next to a pretty dense residential area. There were about 150 people there and the atmosphere was pretty good.

This is the one that made the local news (along with a substansive article). They cropped it to 1:2 by also taking off the bottom part:

That was until a farmer had to pass through with his tractor several times. He accelerated through the crowd, which made the protestors quite angry. The farmer went berserk and tried to run people off the road, among which a father with his son on his neck, who went to the farmer to ask him what the hell he was thinking. This ended up in a fight in which the farmer attacked anyone near him, including a former military police officer, a member of the city council and a professional mediator. What you see here is that the man's neighbour has got the man firmly in his grip and tries to calm him down. At least ten people have pressed charges.

The kid's frightened face in between the hand of his father and the arm of the farmer. I didn't come any nearer because the situation was very tense and I didn't want my camera to get damaged.
